It’s true; it’s real – this is going to happen.
Rachel Levy and I will be bringing back our recreation of the Saga of Hervor and Heidrek as part of Brighton Horrorfest 2019. This Icelandic saga of loss, betrayal, harsh dooms and cursed swords will be right at home – and with our telling to suit all tastes, we can’t wait to get stuck back into it.
This is an amazing story, about heroes, ghosts and magic, yes, but ultimately about characters struggling against society to find lives of their choosing – although their motivations are never so cut and dried… The tale of shieldmaiden Hervor reclaiming her inheritance, and her son Heidrek’s ruthless quest for glory, has caught something really weighty in our imaginations, so we can’t wait to share it with you again.
